The Jack Davies Collection

Objects donated to the museum by Jack Davies collected over 50 years
John "Jack" Davies was a second row forward who played 49 first team matches for Cardiff between 1964 and 1969 and played on the South Africa tour in 1967.
Jack also appeared 113 times for the Athletic XV between 1964 and 1976, and captained the side for 3 seasons from 1968 to 1971
In 1956 he toured South Africa with the very successful Welsh Secondary Schools side and when went on to captain the side the following year.
After retiring from playing Davies served many roles for Cardiff RFC including on committee, coaching the Cardiff Youth Team and for many years was secretary of the Former Players Association.
