The Stanley Williams Collection
A collection of objects from a scrapbook discovered by Dave Warren. The scrapbook was presumably put together by the Williams' family.
George Stanley Williams played ten 1st XV matches for Cardiff between 1921/13 and 1913/14 and many more for the Cardiff Reserves.
Williams had played for Bridgend before a controversial transfer to Cardiff in 1912. Commissioned to the 16th Battalion Welsh Regiment (Cardiff City), he was serving as a lieutenant with the 14th Battalion Welsh Regiment when he was killed in action near Le Cateau three weeks before the end of the war on 20 October 1918.
