For the Scotland v Wales 4 nations match on 4th February 1893
This match took place at Raeburn Place in Edinburgh. Scoring three brilliantly executed tries in the second half, Wales won for the first time in Scotland by 9 points to nil. It was only the second time Wales had defeated Scotland in eleven fixtures. One of the tries was scored by Cardiff’s Norman Biggs. A month later Wales defeated Ireland at Llanelli to take their first ever Triple Crown. Cardiff’s other representative in the Welsh team that season was Frank Hill. See his Triple Crown medal
