Alex Cuthbert was born in Gloucester but came to the attention of Cardiff Blues after studying at UWIC and playing in Wales' sevens team. He first appeared in Cardiff Blues colours in 2011 and soon became a prolific try scorer and crowd favourite. Qualifying for Wales through a Welsh grandmother, Alex repeated his success on the national stage, scoring two memorable tries against England in 2013. He toured with the Lions that same year. He left Cardiff Blues for Exeter at the end of the 2017/18 season. You can find a superb video tribute to him here
