Players tie first introduced in 1935. The design chosen by players from a number by Danny Davies. To qualify for one, on payment, a player had to make at least 15 match appearances in one season for the 1st XV, Athletic XV, or combination of both.
The design is almost identical to the Youth Tie used today.
