Ivor Williams was recruited to play rugby from the ranks of Cardiff City AFC. Williams toured with the 1938 Lions and played in Welsh trials in 1934 and 1938, but was never capped. He also played for Gloucester and Gloucestershire. As he was not a full Welsh international and did not play rugby in his earlier years, the provenance of this jersey is unknown, thought it could be from one of his Welsh trials.
