Info:
Workman’s season tickets were introduced in 1890/91. They cost 2 shillings and 6 pence (12 1/2 pence) and, in their first year, 968 were issued. They proved to be very popular. In the following season, when this ticket was the 153rd issued, the number of workman’s tickets sold rose to 1,678.  The club’s Annual Report for 1891/2 described the increase in members and season ticket holders that year  as “most marked” and it revealed that the total number was now over 2,700.  This figure excluded ladies’ ticket holders, who at that time, were admitted free of charge.
